Heavy Duty Mechanic Position

Join Fort Garry Industries as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at our Edmonton West Branch. This role focuses on repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heavy trucks and trailers while ensuring exceptional customer service.

As a critical part of our team at Fort Garry Industries, you will engage in various mechanical tasks including brake replacements, electrical troubleshooting, and performing CVIP inspections. We seek a registered level 3 apprentice or someone with equivalent experience who can demonstrate strong skills in repairs and preventative maintenance for heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove and replace brakes, drums, and bearings

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting systems

• Repair chassis components including axles and air systems

• Perform CVIP inspections on trucks and trailers

• Complete documentation accurately for mechanical services

Requirements:

• Registered level 3 apprentice or higher skillset

• Experience in CVIP inspections preferred

• Strong understanding of highway truck wiring

• Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs

• Must own tools for task completion
