As a casual Engine Room Assistant, you will report directly to the Chief Engineer. This role is pivotal, requiring skills in machinery monitoring, maintenance assistance, and safety checks. You'll carry out daily routines, ensuring machinery, electrical systems, and emergency protocols are maintained efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain oil, water levels, and temperatures
• Perform general housekeeping of machinery and spaces
• Assist Engineers with maintenance and overhauls
• Check void spaces and pump dirty oil tanks
• Ensure emergency systems and drills are up to date
Requirements:
• STCW Basic Safety and Marine Emergency duties training
• Mechanical background with formal training or certification
• Preference for 4th Class Motor Certificate holders
• Ability to prioritize and maintain safety standards
• Experience with mechanical systems and tasks
