JOURNEYPERSON CARPENTER – OPEN COMPETITION Job Purpose

You are an Journeyperson Carpenter seeking a competitive wage, extensive benefits, and want to work for a company who prides themselves on safety. Comprehend drawings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions

Understand concrete forming and engineered forming systems to accurately build concrete forms

Skilled with traditional, PERI, Aluma and EFCO formwork

Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location

Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines, following Ledcor’s high standards for safety and quality

Education, Experience and Requirements
  • Provincially recognized journeyperson certification in Carpentry
  • Non-certified journey persons must hold a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working on major infrastructure and bridge projects required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, and meet deadlines
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract
  • CSTS-2020 Fundamentals, WHMIS 2015, ESC Fall Protection, Confined Space and Elevated Work Platform(training provided)

Working Conditions
  • Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day with potential overtime required over the summer months on the weekend
  • Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed

  • Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
