Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Facilities department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, both automated and manual.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (. wall switches and outlets, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords).

Performs minor plumbing maintenance (. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, .

Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (. hanging doors, fitting locks).

Assist in the fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, paint selection and preparation.

Monitor control systems, building heating and refrigeration systems and fire detection and protection systems.

Emergency and preventative maintenance on equipment throughout facility.

Assisting production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.

Maintenance and operation of floor cleaning equipment.

Emptying of all shop floor garbage and cardboard.

Promotes a safety culture as well as attends all safety meetings.

Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.

Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum education of a High School Diploma is required.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance group.

Basic level computer skills in MS Office products.

Safety training certificates are an asset for the position including elevated work platform, fall arrest, forklift and crane.

Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.

Working Conditions

Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.

Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.

Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders).
