Mammoet is seeking a motivated and energetic Heavy-Duty Transport Mechanic to join our Edmonton branch. The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, is comfortable with travel, and is eager to continuously learn and grow while performing work safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing Responsibilities (including but not limited to)- Able to diagnose and/or determine technical problems
- Able to perform regular maintenance and inspections of all equipment within the department
- Must document all repairs and parts replacement for equipment files
- Mentor apprentices
- Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner
- Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed
- Carry out all work in accordance with Mammoet HSE/SHE-Q and business policies and procedures, including the use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned by EMD supervision
Based on credentials and experience, individuals may be considered for advancement into higher-level roles within the EMD team, with opportunities to expand technical expertise, leadership contribution, and career development.
What You’ll Need Experience- Must have sufficient training and experience in repairing of major brands of domestic tractors & trailers in Mammoet’s fleet.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Vehicle Inspection license
- Must be familiar with manufacturer diagnostic software an asset, willing to train
- Familiarity with Schuerle Inter Combi / K25 trailers and SPMT an asset, willing to train
- Journeyman trade certificate (Red Seal preferred)
- Apprentices’ 2nd, 3rd and 4th year
- Minimum of 5 years work experience
- Clear, respectful communicator who works well with crews and supervisors
- Quick learner with a hands‑on mindset and interest in modern heavy‑duty equipment
- Self‑motivated and dependable
- Strong attention to detail when diagnosing, repairing, and inspecting equipment
