Trades ​/ Skilled Labor Technician, Field​/Service Technician

Hazmat Technicians at GFL Environmental play a vital role in emergency response situations involving hazardous materials. This team-oriented position requires technical expertise, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety. Candidates will respond to incidents across Alberta, ensuring rapid and effective containment and remediation. • Ability to fulfill on-call and travel requirements, including out-of-town work as needed
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract (Class 5Q desirable)
• Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection (must be clean shaven)
• Experience in hazardous materials handling or emergency response is an asset
• Willingness to participate in specialized projects and live training events
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Successful completion of required drug and alcohol testing (safety sensitive position)

• Prior training or experience as a HAZMAT Technician, Tank Car Specialist, Tank Truck Specialist,ICS, or Confined Space Entry
