Water Wastewater Utility Operator

Operate water and wastewater systems while applying SCADA knowledge and municipal equipment skills in a public works utility role.
Reporting to the Utilities Manager, the Utility Operator maintains community water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure. The position supports safe drinking water under Alberta Environment’s Code of Practice while assisting public works projects, infrastructure maintenance, and general labour tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain water, sewer, and stormwater facilities, pumps, and valves
Maintain accurate records meeting regulatory standards
Perform sanitary and storm sewer repairs
Operate municipal equipment and hand tools safely
Respond to emergency callouts as needed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Q Endorsement
Water Distribution Level 2 certification
Water Treatment Level 2 certification, with Level 3 preferred
Wastewater Collection Level 2 and Treatment Level 1 certifications
Apply water systems, wastewater operations, SCADA knowledge, and equipment skills across essential municipal infrastructure services.
