Town Financial Accountant

Position: Town Financial Accountant Role
Contribute to municipal finances as a Financial Accountant with the Town of Edson. This position focuses on improving financial processes while ensuring accountability and transparency across the organization.

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Municipal Accountant plays a key role in operational efficiency. You will engage in detailed accounting tasks, from handling journal entries to managing budgets and assisting departments to uphold financial integrity. Your collaboration will foster a positive team environment and enhance connection across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets

• Complete significant reconciliations per accounting standards

• Provide guidance to Finance Department staff

• Maintain and administer the Town's insurance portfolio

• Support decision-making with comprehensive financial analyses

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration

• Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience required

• CPA certification or candidate considered

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Proof of qualifications and clear criminal record
