Skills Needed: EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Must have demonstrated ability to safely operate a large passenger vehicle or commercial vehicle with at least six (6) months experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, rules and regulations; as well as working knowledge of the mechanics included in the operation of a motor vehicle and related equipment.
Familiarity with area geography and ability to read maps and follow directions required.
Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record and sufficient liability insurance. Access to personal vehicle also required.
Experience working with and around children in a care or educational setting; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must successfully pass in-house van certification training before driving vehicles.
Must acquire CPR, First Aid/SIDS, DFPS background check, FBI fingerprint and food handling certifications prior to start of employment. Must maintain these certifications throughout employment.
Must supply physician statement of current negative TB test and freedom from communicable diseases.
Willingness to follow direction from superiors required.
Love of children, patience, stamina and flexibility required.
Must be able to cope with emergencies and mediate or resolve disputes.
Must be a self-starter, have creative energy, and be enthusiastic.
Must be well organized and be able to handle multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Must be able to work under pressure with interruptions.
Must be able to make sound judgments
21 years of age or older preferred.
