About the RoleRBM Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial performance of our real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consistency, accuracy, and wants to grow their technical accounting knowledge in a supportive, team-focused environment.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting while gaining hands‑on experience across multiple properties and accounting functions.
What You’ll Do- Manage monthly close processes including journal entries, accruals/deferrals, and financial statement preparation (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Complete bank reconciliations and monitor property cash flow, identifying and resolving variances
- Support AP/AR processes, ensuring accurate coding, invoice processing, and tenant ledger integrity
- Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and CAM/tax/insurance reconciliations
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies; support audits and tax preparation
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to property teams and leadership
- Utilize App Folio systems efficiently and identify opportunities to improve processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- 1-2+ years of accounting experience (property or multi-entity experience preferred)
- Knowledge of GAAP basics and strong Excel skills
- Experience with App Folio or similar systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a structured, recurring cycle environment
