What You Will Do
- The primary purpose of the Career Readiness and Internship Coordinator is to work directly with students and departmental senior leadership in processing the documentation required for participation in the Career Development Centers Co-op and Internship Program and career readiness processes.
- Working under direct supervision and following established procedures, the incumbent supports students, employers, and other campus partners throughout the co-op, internship, and career readiness experiences and helps ensure that program records and paperwork are processed accurately and on time.
- Bachelors degree.
- A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (
Note:
Masters Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) - 4+ years in any career or student services related role.
- Years can be concurrent with above.
- Experience working directly with students on internship paperwork and processes preferred.
- Experience working with university student databases preferred.
- Experience building, troubleshooting, and maintaining relational databases preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and groups.
- Ability to explain program requirements, processes, and expectations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to utilize databases, systems, and web platforms.
- Ability to deliver presentations using established materials.
- Ability to work within structured guidelines and established procedures.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois . Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
