WhatYou Will Do
The Donor Relations Operations Assistant serves as a key liaison between the SIUE Foundation (SIUEF), donors, and campus partners, playing an essential role in advancing the University’s philanthropic mission.
Key Responsibilities Include- Building and sustaining professional, positive relationships with donors and internal partners including supporting donor relations and stewardship activities in collaboration with SIUE Foundation and campus stakeholders
- Ensuring accurate processing, tracking, and reconciliation of gifts and revenue
- Maintaining compliance with IRS regulations, SIUE Foundation policies, and University procedures
- Provide guidance to internal units on IRS compliance and fundraising policies, collaborating on event financial plans and ensuring appropriate use of designated funds
- Coordinate and process direct mail communications; including IRS-compliant gift receipts, tribute notifications, pledge reminders and membership renewals
- Managing donor-related records with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
FLSA:
Non-Exempt
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, non-profit administration, or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive donor and internal relationships.
- Knowledge of fundraising operations, gift processing, and donor stewardship best practices.
- Experience with CRM databases and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with IRS and University policies.
Illinois Residency Requirement:
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois . Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
