Are you ready to bring vision, collaboration, and construction expertise together and lead projects to deliver exceptional campus spaces?
To build on a strong foundation of achievement and contribute to the realization of its ambitious institutional goals, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the position of Project Manager – Design & Construction (CS26-259).
Under the direction of the Principal Architect, but with considerable independence, the Project Manager oversees the design and construction of smaller renovation projects at SIUE, as requested by a department. The position also may manage larger, multi-million-dollar projects executed by A/E Consultants under contract, acting as the Owner's Agent. The position carries the responsibility and authority as needed to ensure construction projects are built per contract drawings and specifications as well as cost control to ensure budgetary goals are met.

WhatYou Will Do
- Manages project development and design by architect-engineer firms and execution by constructions contracts
- Works closely with University clients and Purchasing Department to meet requirements
- Develops programs, cost estimates, and designs for smaller renovation projects working closely with the project customers
- Perform special studies that involve technical investigations and analysis, and recommends solutions to unique planning and design problems
- Provide professional support to building maintenance activities within the scope of professional knowledge and experience
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
Work experience in construction management, building project management or a closely related field.
College Coursework In Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Or a Closely Related Discipline, As Measured By The Following Conversion Table Or Its Proportional Equivalent
- Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Three (3) years (36 months) of building construction management and/or building project management experience comparable to the lower level of this series.
