WhatYou Will Do
- Partner with the Director of Development to plan and execute impactful projects and events that advance development, alumni relations, and engagement goals within the SIUE College of Arts and Sciences.
- Support the design and delivery of programs that foster meaningful connections between alumni, donors, friends, and the College’s mission.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure development initiatives align with institutional priorities and storytelling goals.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to strengthen fundraising and engagement efforts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail, timelines, and follow-through.
- Anticipate future needs and contribute ideas that support long‑term development and relationship‑building strategies.
FLSA:
Non‑Exempt
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, Mass Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of work experience in marketing, public relations, and/or planning events or related work experience.
- Experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, fundraising, contact relationship management (CRM) or other database software.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write well.
- High attention to detail and follow‑up and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact.
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge (or ability to learn) of the internal workings of a University and the technology tools available to development, including Raisers Edge NXT, Awards Management, Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, knowledge of HTML and design software such as Cascade, and social media platforms.
- Ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting; an exceptional work ethic and track record of personal initiative.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new programs in an emerging and changing environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel to non‑campus locations for University business.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
