SummaryThe Instructional Coach’s primary focus is to support student learning and teacher practice across the district’s elementary schools. Responsibilities include planning and delivering professional development, coaching teachers through planning and modeling, providing data-driven feedback, and evaluating the impact of learning programs.
Duties- Assist teachers in using data to assess student learning, align to standards, differentiate instruction, and provide rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students.
- Conduct observations and provide coaching, modeling, and feedback on instruction that meets district-wide expectations.
- Introduce teachers to new instructional strategies, materials, and technology integration methods that increase student achievement.
- Collaborate with district-level supervisors to evaluate, select, and implement professional development experiences.
- Work with school administrators to identify the needs of first‑year and non‑tenured staff, and deliver appropriate coaching, training, and resources.
- Evaluate the results of professional learning programs to determine their effectiveness in deepening teacher content knowledge, improving pedagogical skills, and increasing student learning.
- Engage in continual learning to deepen content and pedagogical knowledge through off‑site visits, workshops, and conferences.
- Contribute to systems and structures that improve teacher practice and collaboration.
- Willingness to assume leadership positions and adapt to changing needs while providing organized support.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and facilitating workshops, institutes, in‑services, and summer training.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Valid Illinois professional educator license (PEL).
- Minimum of 5 years successful experience as a classroom teacher.
- Superior work habits and ethics – self‑motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent working relationships with administration, faculty, and students.
- Expertise in the use of email, Microsoft Office, video conferencing, LMS (Schoology), and E‑School (TAC).
- Evidence of professional growth, lifelong learning, and participation in a wide range of professional development activities.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
