What You Will Do

  • Under general supervision of the Associate Director, consults with faculty members on instructional design projects providing instruction and direction on all aspects of course design, development, and delivery.
  • Provides faculty with curricular strategies and best practices for teaching in online, hybrid, and face-to-face course formats.
  • Provides instruction, consultations, workshops, and other resources for faculty to build, maintain, and/or improve teaching skills and approaches.
  • Researches current trends in online learning and educational technologies, establishes their pedagogical applications, and partners with faculty members on their integration into their curriculum.
  • This work can sometimes lead to coordinated research projects, publications, and grants.
  • Researches design strategies sometimes in conjunction with other IDs and provides instruction and direction to faculty on how to implement design strategies with curricula.
  • Supports faculty and student users of learning management systems and related learning technologies.
  • Designs and coordinates faculty, staff, and student training workshops, programs, and resources where they instruct users on various pedagogical topics.
  • Partners with faculty and appropriate campus units to ensure all online/hybrid and technology-enhanced courses meet all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Assists in developing policies for online/hybrid courses and programs, and helps establish evaluation procedures that help ensure continuous improvement.
  • Serves as a liaison to ACCESS to facilitate prompt resolution of accessibility-related accommodation and content remediation requests.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Master's degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities such as history, political science, literature, journalism, communications, or philosophy AND Six (6) months of experience which included any of the following areas professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching OR Baccalaureate degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities AND Eighteen (18) months of experience which included any of the following areas professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching Preferred Qualifications Years of experience may be concurrent.

1.
