Purpose of the PositionScott Credit Union is seeking a hands-on, strategic Head of Card Services to lead and scale its debit and credit card portfolio during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. This role blends operational leadership, product strategy, and people development, with direct accountability for the performance, experience, and profitability of the card program.
With a current card portfolio of approximately $38 million and a clear ambition to grow to $100M+ over the next 3–5 years, this leader will play a central role in executing that growth—while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an outstanding member experience.
The role is well-suited for a payments or card leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, partnering across the organization, and building scalable programs in a mission-driven environment.
Key Priorities & ImpactIn the first 6–12 months, the Card Services Manager will:
- Lead and oversee the conversion from Visa to Mastercard, targeted for completion in Fall 2026.
- Operationalize and enhance the existing card strategy, bringing new ideas to accelerate portfolio growth and top of-wallet usage.
- Launch and optimize an enhanced rewards program, along with new features such as tap-to-pay and card controls.
- Strengthen reporting, analytics, and vendor partnerships—particularly with FIS—to enable better decision-making and program management.
- Serve as the internal owner of card program performance, including revenue, risk, fraud mitigation, and member experience.
- Mentor and develop a small, high-performing Card Services team and ensure long-term leadership continuity.
- Own the end-to-end performance of debit and credit card products, including growth strategy, P&L oversight, and operational execution.
- Translate member needs and usage data into actionable product enhancements and marketing opportunities.
- Partner closely with Digital, Marketing, Risk, Consumer Lending, and HR to deliver cohesive card experiences.
