What

You Will Do
  • Administer benefits for veterans, including Illinois MIA/POW, ING, IVG, VA Chapter 33, and ROTC scholarships.
  • Apply tuition and fee waivers and stipends.
  • Assist with the Monetary Award Program.
  • Receive and process athletic scholarship agreements/contracts and changes of awards while resolving over‑awards.
  • Receive and process aid cancellations, notify students of the right to appeal, handle appeals if applicable, and cancel aid when necessary.
  • Keep current on NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Answer financial aid questions on phones and at the counter as needed.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:

  • College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
    • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
    • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
    • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
  • Work experience coordinating office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
  • One (1) year (12 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.

Illinois Residency Requirement

Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois . Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
