WhatYou Will Do
- Provide support for building wide programs and activities.
- Assist with programming coordination.
- Provide a variety of support to staff in the design, planning and implementation of programs, events, and activities.
- Compile and review assessment data from events, programs, and services, and summarize findings.
- Support the operations and procedures of the MUC.
- Act as liaison and representative in various capacities as requested.
- Serve as liaison for students and community regarding inquiries and the clarification and interpretation of internal policies and procedures on behalf of the MUC.
- Manage confidential filing and personnel files within the unit.
- Manage unit assessment data and complete annual reports as required.
- Provide budget projections and information on the feasibility of expenditures.
- Serve as the MUC liaison with Human Resources on personnel concerns such as unit hiring, payroll, and department time entry.
- Determine student staffing needs.
FLSA: Non‑Exempt
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of University programs, policies, and procedures and the ability to operate computer systems, using various computer and software packages including but not limited to Event Management System (EMS), Neo Ed, Time Pro, Banner, Cascade, and Qualtrics.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Knowledge of general programming and event management.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, the public, and outside constituency groups.
- Ability to organize and multi‑task.
- Ability to utilize various computer software packages.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in order to analyze and investigate a variety of questions or problems.
Illinois Residency Requirement:
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out‑of‑state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois . Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
Veterans who qualify for preference must provide proof of eligibility within ten (10) working days of submitting an application. The required proof of eligibility includes, at a minimum, a copy of the veteran’s DD214/DD215 form, NGB
22 form, or Discharge Orders or DD256 Discharge Certificate.
