Maintenance Technician

The person in this position maintains facility and equipment to accommodate production/warehousing in a safe working atmosphere. The Maintenance Technician acts as a front line leader for technical knowledge on highly complex automation or equipment problems. This position requires working with outside contractors and vendors for maintaining equipment and needed inventory. This person is also required to communicate with the Technical Supervisor and other personnel on any and all activities that affect safety, quality or production.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment
  • Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, and correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity/quality standards
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Assist in the setup and tear down of production lines
  • Control downtime by communicating with all departments
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories, and conserve resources when able. Responsible for facility maintenance (inside and outside)
  • Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, comply with company safety policies and procedures, and promote a safe work environment
  • Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests
  • Ability to operate and understand measuring equipment such as: standard or metric tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter)
  • Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical function
  • Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines
  • Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including listening
  • Attributes desired include being self-motivated, assertive, self-starter, problem-solver and results driven

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Production/Warehouse setting

The expected salary range for this position is $24-$34/per hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short and Long term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500 (2nd Shift) based on the role and offer accepted. To qualify, employees must successfully complete all job requirements and maintain satisfactory performance, attendance, and conduct during their first 90 days of employment. One-half of the sign-on bonus will be paid after successful completion of the first 90 days. The remaining half will be paid after successful completion of 180 days of employment, provided the same performance, attendance, and conduct expectations continue to be met.
