Asset Protection Associate responsible for supporting facility security staff, monitoring and maintaining access control equipment, ensuring compliance with asset protection policies, environmental health and safety laws and regulations, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating across departments, gathering and interpreting data, supporting training initiatives, communicating effectively, driving process improvement, and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities- Supports facility security staff.
- Monitors and maintains access control equipment.
- Possesses knowledge of asset protection policies, practices, guidelines and environmental health and safety laws and regulations.
- Accesses organizational resources to address business‑specific health and safety hazards.
- Supports the implementation of relevant industry‑specific and OSHA guidelines.
- Highlights business risks associated with employee health and safety issues to facility management.
- Addresses employee health and safety issues within assigned scope.
- Maintains a directory of emergency response personnel.
- Summons emergency services as necessary.
- Conducts compliance safety and food safety audits and reviews.
- Conducts daily audits of buildings and food safety audits.
- Creates audit reports and acts as an associate interface for workers' compensation issues.
- Obtains necessary records and analyzes reports on claims that may require settlement.
- Owns delivery of project activity and tasks assigned by others.
- Supports process updates and changes, solves simple business issues, and demonstrates functional knowledge of the business unit.
- Gathers and interprets data in a digital environment, creates reports using existing models/templates, and reviews data across systems for completeness.
- Suggests tasks that can be automated using technology (e.g., robotic process automation, AI, cloud applications).
- Supports activities of instructors or learning facilitators in training programs, manages systematic approaches to solicit feedback, and maintains repositories of best practices.
- Explains relevant processes and procedures to contractors.
- Organizes thoughts and communicates credibly and concisely, presenting to and influencing team members and business partners.
- Utilizes relevant data and fact‑based information to articulate results and provide recommendations.
- Actively listens, seeks constructive feedback, and proactively builds a professional network.
- Supports implementation of process improvement strategies, identifies gaps, suggests improvements, and participates in investigations and root‑cause analysis.
- Leads incident investigations and root‑cause analysis under supervision.
- Demonstrates awareness of environmental regulations, directs inquiries to appropriate contacts, and implements Walmart’s environmental policies.
- Contributes to achieving environmental targets using control procedures.
- Explains operational functions, clarifies departmental roles, describes interdependence of support and line functions, identifies primary operational functions, and locates SOP/OBW information.
- Encourages a drug‑free workplace and prevents illegal drug or alcohol use on the job.
- Completes work assignments and priorities using policies, data, resources, and collaboration with managers and business partners.
6 months experience as a Walmart associate OR 1 year’s work experience or coursework in criminal justice, loss prevention/asset protection, safety, compliance, or security‑related field (e.g., Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice).
Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft Office Suite;
