Job Title: Shop Foreman
Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Fleet Maintenance Manager
Work Schedule: M-F (flexible hours)
Compensation: $35-45/hr
This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends on applicants credentials. At Utilitra, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, and credentials, when determining the base salary offered.

OverviewThe Shop Foreman is responsible for the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. This includes direct supervision and coordination of shop mechanics' activities.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesOversee a team of mechanics, managing workflow and enforcing compliance with both company policies and industry regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities- Service and repair company vehicles and equipment in a safe, quality, and timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and identify necessary repairs.
- Install equipment.
- Perform typical maintenance services at scheduled intervals.
- Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment and report issues to the Fleet Maintenance Department.
- Documentation:
Complete work orders and maintain detailed notes about repairs and replacements. - Look for and report tampering.
- Make a note of repetitive issues that could trigger warranty coverage.
- Recommend installation changes that could reduce repairs needed over time.
- Complete and submit all required documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work proficiently in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of shop mechanics.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees in correcting job‑skill deficiencies.
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, the quantity of equipment, and the skill of personnel.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
- Keep the work area clean and secure.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements.
- Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and establish cooperative working relationships.
- Speak effectively with customers and employees of the company.
- Serve as an example for other employees; foster a culture of respect, integrity, and kindness.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Cross‑train in all facets of Fleet, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and to grow in responsibility and scope over time.
