This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting while supporting daily plant operations through meaningful financial analysis and operational partnership. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing accounting background, enjoys working cross-functionally with operations, and is comfortable balancing strategic financial oversight with hands‑on accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Direct all plant accounting activities, including the monthly close process, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy.
- Monitor cash activity and complete bank reconciliations.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation records.
- Lead inventory accounting by monitoring inventory accuracy, supporting cycle counts, reconciling inventory balances, and validating bills of materials.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, inventory variances, and product profitability to support business decisions.
- Develop monthly financial analyses, including budget-to-actual reporting, forecasting support, and operational performance metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing financial reporting.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across accounting, operations, and executive leadership.
