Retail & Store Manager
Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.
Responsibilities- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards, following the One Best Way service model.
- Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs.
- Drives financial performance by reviewing PL statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Ensures effective merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes to meet shrink mitigation, sales, and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates: hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and recognition.
- Coordinates job-related activities, builds relationships with key stakeholders, and measures progress toward goals.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and supports the Open Door Policy and ethics standards.
- Builds high-performing teams embracing diversity and fostering a culture of belonging.
- Attracts, retains, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and maintaining integrity.
- Serves customers and members, using data insight to balance short- and long-term priorities.
- Minimum 2 years of college credit or equivalent experience (e.g., 1 year retail and 1 year supervisory).
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership; experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management. - For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition with state requirements: current state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Must complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
Competitive base salary of $65,000–$100,000, performance bonuses, and additional compensation (regional pay zone, complex structure).
