CDL A Shuttle Driver

Location: Performance Middendorf (0700)

Shift: 3rd Shift (Sunday – Thursday nights)

Compensation: $30.60 per hour

Position Details
  • Pay: $30.60 per hour
  • Work Hours:

    start between 6 pm and 7 pm, work until finished
  • Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday to Thursday nights
  • Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000 (eligible only if not employed by a PFG‑owned company within the last 6 months)
Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, but they are the face of our company — building lasting relationships with our customers!

As a Shuttle Driver you will play a vital role by transporting empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations, turning around, and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor‑trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring safe and timely delivery in accordance with DOT regulations.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post‑trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines; report safety hazards immediately.
  • Inspect trailers for proper loading and secured freight.
  • Ensure route paperwork is available and complete upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to the predetermined route schedule.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
  • Lock and secure all equipment and freight.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers; bring them back for driver check‑in at base facility and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Record hours of service daily and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the truck, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 12 months commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or state‑approved equivalent.
  • Internal candidates must be in good standing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to hand‑lift and utilize a two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight weighing 10–35 pounds and up to 60–90 pounds.
