Role Description
The Electrical Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlantic County, NJ. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and identifying materials, labor, and equipment requirements. The estimator will analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes and prepare bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the project scope.
Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with project managers and engineers, communicating with vendors, updating cost data, and supporting value engineering efforts. The role also involves tracking estimate assumptions, maintaining organized records, and contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.
- Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating skills, including experience with electrical construction projects (3-5 years preferred).
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Quantity Take-offs and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Candidates should possess Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop accurate project budgets and monitor financial assumptions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Experience with Trimble Accu Bid estimating software, MS Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore or similar tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards relevant to commercial and industrial construction.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Relevant education, such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
