10 Month/10-Day High School Assistant Principal
Reports ToBuilding Principal
Job PurposeTo provide support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned programs and services in the school; provide information and serve as a resource to others; supervise assigned staff; coordinate school activities and address issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.
Qualifications (Required)- Master's Degree or higher in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership
- NJ Principal Certification (Standard or CE)
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak English clearly and accurately
- Ability to resolve conflicts/problem solve
- A passionate professional that is fully vested in the success of all students and staff
- A community based practitioner who understands and appreciates the need to involve multiple stakeholder groups in the decision making process
- An educator willing to constantly develop professionally and encourage those under his/her leadership to do the same
- A highly organized manager that effectively handles non-educational tasks and minimizes the effect they have on the learning environment
- Must possess a valid NJ driver's license
- Ability to pass the pre-employment physical
- Must pass the Criminal History Background check
- Must submit the Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Form
- Knowledge of/certification in the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching
- Professional development background in equity and/or restorative discipline
- Knowledge of school scheduling
- Handles student discipline
- Attends court hearings when necessary
- Attends BOE meetings as needed for student recognition, HIB cases, and/or discipline cases.
- Completes Faculty/Staff Observations and Evaluations
- Conduces Post Observation conferences
- Completes Teacher Walkthroughs
- Serves as a member of School Crisis Team
- Coordinates Emergency Evacuation Schedules
- Coordinates Emergency Evacuation Arrangements for Ambulatory Students
- Attends Administrator PLCs
- Attends Faculty PLCs
- Attends evening events
- Collects and reports SSDS school data
- Prepares and submits office budget
- Organizes student assemblies
- Attends New Teacher Orientation
- Serves as liaison for I&RS Team
- Oversees office staff
- Coordinates and updates Saturday Detention Program
- Prepares Student Handbook
- Prepares Faculty/Staff Handbook
- Develops, updates, follows up on 504 Plans
- Coordinates and distributes special bell schedules
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the High School Principal
Office environment; school environment (classroom, cafeteria, hallways, athletic fields, parking lots); after school/evening events.
Salary & Benefits10 Month/10-Day Salary Range of $85,515 - $103,030, commensurate with experience. Salary is inclusive of 10 Days of service required between July 1 and August 31. Medical and Dental Benefits. Membership in the TPAF Pension System.
