Lead Educator

Reggio’s Treehouse is looking for experienced and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educators who are “outside the box” thinkers. Our Reggio Emilia philosophy encourages children to become self‑directed learners and critical thinkers.

Location:

LFA, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, USA

• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the Reggio philosophy that cater to individual needs of the students
• Monitoring, recording and assessing student progress and development
• Providing immediate and appropriate responses based on student need
• Learning the technology required to document the experiences of children and supporting the documentation of student/classroom experiences
• Collaborating with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
• Liaising with the Director to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (PSHE integration)
• Having a sharp and progressive vision of interdisciplinary learning and teaching
• Acting professionally at all times, setting a good example to children
• Using all learning resources effectively and creating new ones
• Communicating with parents and ensuring they are aware of the development of their children
• Organizing and participating in parent meetings
• Organizing and participating in school meetings, events and trips

• Associate’s Degree or higher is required to be a Lead Teacher
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields is preferred
• At least one year of experience working in a licensed child care facility, kindergarten or early childhood program
• Experience in a Reggio Emilia inspired school is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Project Based Learning is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Highly professional and dependable
• Teacher certification or teacher license from any agency is a plus
