Systems Engineer

The Engineer will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems
. The position requires significant interaction with other System Test Engineers, Software Engineers and System Engineers along with interface to FAA Customers and Management. Duties will include revising, reviewing documents (SIGs, PREDs, OCTs, TI Manual Updates) assigned to ensure the system meets all defined requirements. Collaborate with functional and development teams, analyze artifacts to identify system problems and options for improving the effectiveness of the procedures with the Integration team.
Contribute to the maintenance of the System. Complete work assignments and perform appropriate follow up to ensure that tasks are completed on time. Participate in review of standards, procedures, tools, and process. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust.
The person in this position will be expected to report to the work location at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in New Jersey.
Position RequirementsMinimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Master's degree in a related field and 3 years of experience
- 25 Years of Engineering experience
- Reviewing documents (SIGs, PREDs, OCTs, TI Manual Updates)
- Attending meetings
- Resolving Tickets
- ERAM Help Desk
- AIMS Tickets
- ERAM + CPDLC analysis for issues
- KSH Scripting
- Developing or updating C++ or python code related to SLE tools
- Briefing the Site Support group on analyzing various issues or using various tools
- Using SDS/SARBOT to investigate ERAM related issues and test resolutions
- Providing guidance + responding to questions to Leidos developers on new SDS/SARBOT functionality
- A knowledge of Wireshark and writing and maintaining wireshark LUA dissectors
- An ability to read and understand ADA source code
- A working knowledge of Perl
- Ability to write and maintain:
- C, C++, Python code and KSH scripts
- Extensive Linux knowledge
- Extensive ERAM knowledge + associated interfaces
- Have working knowledge of:
- Networks and network protocols
- Cisco network equipment and configuration files
- Net App storage systems
- Serial radar and interfacility data
- Asterix categories (cat

- Sky Data Sentry /SARBOT
- ERAM SAR and ERAM EOPD

- Ability to perform Radar and ADSB analysis
- Ability to write and maintain ERAM SWAC for matters
- Effectively use Google Earth for radar, ADSB, Adaptation, Flight Data, and CPDLC analysis
