ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Create and maintain system architecture documentation
• Research and document analysis in technical reports
• Monitor, analyze, and report on system performance; identify inefficiencies, issues, and bottlenecks
• Support system analyses and reports by mining system information using no‑sql/big data analysis techniques on large volumes of system logs (including tool suites like Horton Works/Cloudera)
• Model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions
• Prepare plans and assessments, such as management engineering plans, integrated support plans, meeting presentations and implementation plans
• Anticipate and address problems of systems integration, compatibility and multiple platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance problems
• Troubleshoot high‑level technical and non‑engineering, mathematics‑technical issues

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic and operational issues
• Demonstrate strength in solving complex problems
• Experience utilizing systems engineering and work management tools such as Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
• Familiar using UNIX performance tools like top, iotop, sar, vmstat, iostat, ptrace, strace, ethtool, tcpdump
• Familiar with JVisualVM, JProfiler, JConsole
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and customers
• Organization and time management skills
• Ability to travel when needed

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field is preferred) + 5 yrs. related experience
