POSITION SUMMARY
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the daily oversight of all scheduling procedures, tests, and diagnostic services provided by the Atlanti Care Medical Center including the Center of Periop Medicine. While the Scheduler coordinates a wide variety of patient and information flow between physician offices, Pre‑Admission Testing, Radiology and the Operating Room, they also manage the initial patient registration process and use online tools to provide patients with information regarding pre‑certification, referral need, co‑payment, and medical necessity requirements for services to be rendered.
This position communicates and collaborates with Patient Access team members and other hospital personnel to provide quality customer service.
The Scheduler enters data for all cases and procedures and supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in the medical field as a registrar, receptionist, or other related position required. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience with scheduling software programs and STAR is preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire; incumbents will receive training and then be expected to apply this skill within 30‑60 days from the date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting and working at a computer for the majority of the time.
