The EMS Operations Director oversees EMS Operations, to include- ALS/BLS/SCT, Communications, Emergency Management/Preparedness, NJ EMS Task Force, and operational HR matters.

The EMS Operations Director is responsible for operational matters as they relate to the EMS department, event planning, and emergency preparedness.

The EMS Operations Director is responsible for the maintenance of fleet services for the health system to include, registering and licensing of vehicles, PM cycles, and the purchasing/replacement of vehicles including EMS vehicles. This position will also oversee the development of Atlanti Care's centralized fleet hub.

The EMS Operations Director is responsible for the logistical operations of the EMS department to include the planning of bi-annual biomed day, scheduling the yearly maintenance of EMS equipment (as needed), supply chain management, and the purchasing of EMS equipment.

The EMS Operations Director will also partner with ARMC HR on HR matters related to operational EMS matters.

The EMS Operations Director is responsible for the planning of both planned and non-planned events, and be proficient in MCI operations, and EMS Special Operations.

The EMS Operations Director will interface with internal and external stakeholders as related to EMS operations and participate at local, state and federal level meetings.

The EMS Operations Director is the lead liaison between NJ EMS taskforce and Atlanti Care.

The EMS Operations Director is responsible for the provision of a high standard of emergency medical care to the citizens of Atlantic and Cape May County and surrounding areas. The EMS Operations Director is a role model of company values. They are responsible for resolving customer service issues, operating within budgetary guidelines, identifying ways to best utilize system resources and maximizing performance through continual reassessment of system needs and EMS response to Mass Casualty Incidents, Special Operations requests and Special Events.

The EMS Operations Director provides leadership on designated Shared Governance Teams and will collaborate with team members on various projects throughout the year. All EMS Directors will work together to ensure smooth operations at all times. EMS Operations Director will also be responsible for assuming Administrator on Call for a designated week each month.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

The EMS Operational Manager also assists in identifying market indicators, feasibility testing, establishing and monitoring project guidelines and time frames, & exploring methods for validating & reporting on the efficacy and efficiency of the services.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree required or currently enrolled with completion within 18 months. Master's Degree required or to be started within 18 Months and completed within 36 months.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified as a Paramedic or endorsed as a MICN by the State of NJ. Must maintain certification in the following:
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, NJ MICP or MICN, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS or PEPP, Hazard Material Awareness required upon hire or transfer. A valid Driver's License is required upon hire or transfer.

NJ EMD and NECI 9-1-1 officer required within 3 months of hire or transfer.

Completion of National Incident Command Courses ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 required upon hire or transfer.

National Incident Command Courses ICS 300 and 400 required within 1 year of hire or transfer. Six Sigma Training preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 8-10 years of experience in EMS required. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in EMS operations. Must be experienced with all hazards planning, functioning in an EOC, working within the unified command, running large scale planned and unplanned events. Must have demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work and relate well with others.

Other Requirements: The EMS Operational Manager must also reside in Atlantic or Cape May County or be able to respond to Atlantic and/or Cape May County within 30 minutes within 6 months of appointment.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, blood borne pathogens, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the AVP of EMS.
