NIEC System Administrator

Overview

The selected candidate will deploy new technologies and be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and system integration testing of PC and server operating systems, related utilities, and hardware. This work supports the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Next Gen Integration and Evaluation Capability (NIEC) laboratory at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Pomona, NJ.

• Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users
• Researches, evaluates, and recommends software and hardware products
• Maintains a secure systems environment
• Installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
• Experience with RHEL system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Ansible automation, including system administration, security, and compliance
• Experience with user access and authentication management using LDAP and FreeIPA
• Understanding of system security best practices
• Proven experience with shell scripting
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• AWS cloud experience and/or certification is preferred
• Kubernetes experience is preferred

Bachelor's Degree in a related information technology field. Years of experience may be substituted for degree.

Salary Range
: $65,000-$75,000 Annually
