Job Description

Position Summary: The Integration Architect III is responsible for the integration of applications across the business and for design, system validation, and implementation and upgrade activities across solutions and venues of care with minimal supervision.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. In lieu of degree, 15 years of relevant experience.

License/Certification: Valid New Jersey Driver’s License required.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of healthcare application integration work experience, including Health Level 7 (HL7) interface programming, industry‑specific interface standards and code sets (ANSI, HIPAA, SNOMED, etc.), and interface engines and tools (e.g., Cloverleaf) required. Minimum of two years of relevant architecture experience, preferably within an acute hospital environment. Advanced knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design, and integration required.

Minimum of one year experience managing medium to large data integration projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications required. 2+ years’ experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) preferred. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Applications preferred.

Performance Expectations:

  • Maintain primary ownership for the design, build, and maintenance of highly complex interfaces and other data integration elements.
  • Independently resolve the most complex interface errors and data integration issues.
  • Lead large projects and function as a data integration expert on complex, cross‑functional projects.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of data flow among applications throughout the client application architecture and work directly with application teams to resolve complex data integration issues.
  • Actively lead and take ownership for the design, build, and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex interface errors and other data integration issues.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for addressing a high volume of system‑related activities in a timely fashion while consistently maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand the business use of clinical and non‑clinical applications and work with application teams to help resolve data integration issues related to those systems.
  • Manage data integration concerns for end‑users.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, end users, and other members of the business, patient care, and IT teams to optimize data flow and access.
  • Evaluate problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for changes, data integration requests, system performance problems, and optimization opportunities, and participate in the timely resolution of these activities.
  • Work with end‑users to gather business requirements, perform analysis, code, and test interfaces to ensure successful and seamless communication among various IT systems and application components.
  • Participate in the design, build, and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.
  • Monitor system interfaces and interface engine to proactively identify potential issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving data integration issues.
  • Test data integration components of systems, including configurations, customizations, and new releases, prior to production implementation.
  • Communicate system changes to the end‑user and train staff.
  • Participate as a team member in various projects, including those led by the PMO.
  • Prepare for and participate in system design, validation, and/or remediation sessions.
  • Work with vendors to ensure deliverables are met on time, in budget and in scope.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Position requires local travel.
  • Position requires participation in 24/7 on‑call program. On‑call employees must carry a department‑issued phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problems, and provide services off‑site as needed and be available to provide services on‑site within 1 hour of being called or paged.
