Intermediate level Scenario/Test Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control systems by providing test case development and simulation expertise at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTC). The role involves test development for automated testing and supports various tasks related to quality assurance.

• Develop test cases for automated testing.
• Support test development for FAA Air Traffic Control systems.
• Communicate, analyze, and resolve issues.
• Maintain, support, and optimize all networked software and associated operating systems.
• Resolve complex hardware and software problems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Monitor and test system performance.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
• Proficiency in programming languages (C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
• Strong understanding of core JavaScript concepts and expertise in Type Script.
• Build user interfaces with HTML and style with CSS, including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Consume and interact with RESTful APIs for data exchange with backend services.
• Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with JavaScript build tools like npm, webpack, or similar tools.
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and Open Shift architecture and deployment.
• Proficiency in Linux system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting.
• Experience working in an Agile environment with iterative development and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong system engineering skills: problem determination, authoring white papers, system performance, system security.
• 3–5 years of experience working on NAS systems within the FAA.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States: U.S. citizen or a 3‑year permanent resident.
• Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust.
• Work onsite at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ, five days a week.
