Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered as a promised product or service, on schedule and within budget. The Project Manager position investigates, analyzes, designs, develops, plans and coordinates work teams to implement cost‑effective solutions for technological needs. Provides technical support and application expertise to project team members. Handles complex application features and technical designs. Investigates and assists in developing a proposed solution to business sponsored initiatives.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish.
- Education: High School diploma required;
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area preferred. - License/Certification: Valid Driver’s License required.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years in project management or related area. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Preferred: Project management experience leading complex application implementations within a healthcare environment; program management experience and/or experience managing multiple application threads/projects simultaneously.
- Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy.
- Influences project team members, peers internally, customers, suppliers and partners. Has some responsibility for the work of others.
- Performs project‑management tasks for a broad range of complex technical or professional work activities.
- Investigates, defines and works with the project team to resolve complex problems. Tracks and reports on all project‑related issues and risks until resolution.
- Demonstrates use of applicable standards, methodologies, tools and applications.
- Analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
- Effective communication skills; can present information to all types of audiences.
- Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders and project team members sharing common objectives.
- Plans, schedules and monitors project tasks to meet time and quality targets.
- Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively.
- Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information systems and uses this knowledge to guide project teams.
- Maintains awareness of developing project‑management methodologies and takes responsibility for personal development.
- Collaborates with the project sponsor or business unit leader to develop and document the project charter.
- Creates and executes project plans and revises as appropriate to meet approved changes.
- Applies AIT project methodology and enforces project standards.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
- Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
- Holds regular status meetings with project team.
- Keeps project team informed of requested project changes.
- Communicates relevant project information to sponsors.
- Monitors and oversees adherence to approved project budgets.
- Works directly with IT vendors to obtain estimates, quotes, project plans and contracts.
- Mentors and cross‑trains staff to assist in career development and improve job satisfaction.
- Assumes project leadership in planning, analysis, design, development and implementation of various information‑system projects.
- Coordinates the selection and purchase of hardware/software and related equipment that meets business needs.
- Serves as the customer advocate for a specific customer or business unit as appropriate.
- Performs initial needs analysis on assigned information technology project requests.
- Works with AIT technical and security teams to ensure proper integration of software/technology projects into AHS environment.
- Tracks lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
- Adheres to Atlanti Care and AIT policies and procedures.
