Registered Nurse Operating Room - Center Orthopedic Surgery - Per Diem

Position Summary

The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience. This position provides the physician members of the healthcare team with the equipment, supplies, and support to perform surgical/endoscopic procedures. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
  Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• License/Certification:
  Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Current BLSHCP. ACLS certification recommended. Certified Perianesthesia Ambulatory Nurse (CPAN), Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPN), Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Prior ambulatory/operating room nursing experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to a dynamic schedule. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at hire; training provided and competence required within 30-60 days.

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

Potential exposure to hazards and risks of a hospital environment, blood-borne pathogens, infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Works in a busy, noisy environment requiring re-evaluation of priorities, standing for long periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and short-distance walking.
