Position SummaryThe Perioperative Team Leader is a member of the interdisciplinary team. The Team Leader oversees coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care, ensuring consistency with the medical treatment plan. Acting as a Registered Nurse, they provide expert nursing care delivery, staff education, consultation, evidence-based clinical practice, and leadership. The Team Leader supervises staff daily activities to ensure care delivery aligns with established departmental policies and procedures, and all patient care activities follow standards, procedural guidelines, and organizational policy.
They actively support performance improvement initiatives, lead other patient care team members, and participate in educational activities to foster professional and personal growth. The Team Leader assists Surgery Center leadership in resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, implementing improvement activities, and orienting new employees. They support organizational goals by delivering quality customer service, contributing to performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey and current BLSHCP required.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience preferred; 2 years of specialty experience and/or demonstrated competency within specialty preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire, required within 30‑60 days of hire.
- Prior Ambulatory/Operating Room experience preferred.
- Prior Ambulatory‑PACU experience preferred.
- Prior Ambulatory‑Endo/Pain experience preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
- Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
- Certified Perianesthesia Ambulatory Nurse (CPAN) and certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPN) preferred.
- Certified Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associated (SGNA) and American Society of Pain Management Nursing (ASPMN) preferred.
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
Work EnvironmentPotential exposure to hazards and risks of the clinical environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment, extended standing, and walking. The position requires lifting approximately 25‑50 lbs frequently and 50‑100 lbs with assistance occasionally. Essential functions are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

$37.54 – $60 per hour. Hours per week: 40. Shift: days. Weekend and holiday work not required.
