Role Overview

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our growing team in support of our federal program.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful, mission-critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing of pavement materials including concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and other construction materials in accordance with approved test procedures and applicable standards.
  • Prepare, handle, label, store, and dispose of material samples while maintaining sample integrity and traceability.
  • Conduct concrete, aggregate, and construction materials testing activities supporting research projects and pavement performance evaluations.
  • Perform field sampling and testing activities associated with airport pavement construction support.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance activities.
  • Record test results, observations, equipment readings, and deviations from standard procedures.
  • Support laboratory quality control activities and maintain accurate testing documentation.
  • Assist with preparation of test reports, data packages, and laboratory documentation.
  • Follow laboratory health and safety procedures, including job hazard analyses and safe equipment operation.
  • Support laboratory accreditation activities by maintaining required documentation and following approved test methods.
  • Provide support and expertise in assigned domain.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Special projects as needed.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures for concrete, aggregate, asphalt, and construction materials.
  • Ability to perform standardized materials testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
  • Ability to operate laboratory testing equipment and maintain accurate testing records.
  • Ability to collect, document, and manage laboratory test data.
  • Ability to identify testing issues, equipment problems, and deviations from procedures.
  • Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures and quality control requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
