SST is seeking a Staff Scientist with Secret Clearance to support engineering and scientific research, development, testing, studies, and related activities at the TSL Lab in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This position is contingent on contract award, requires a Secret Clearance, and may involve relocation for qualified individuals.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Scientist, you will perform research, design, development, analyses, and test and evaluation of complex security systems. You will determine the potential of physics approaches for further development, define opportunities to interface various technologies and systems, and assess the usefulness of technologies in the homeland security environment. You will write experiment/test plans and procedures, conduct tests, collect data, and prepare technical reports.
RequiredExperience and Skills
- Experience performing a variety of complex laboratory analytical procedures.
- Experience in automated data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Proficient written and oral communications skills, and working knowledge of commercial software programs.
- Experience preparing and presenting at conferences and other meetings.
- Professional knowledge of physics/chemistry, and/or development of physics or chemistry/trace-based systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a science field (e.g., physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university and at least 6 years of experience in experimental or applied science (physics, chemistry, or related), or
- Master’s degree in a science field (e.g., physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Requires Secret Security Clearance or higher and DHS Suitability.
