Full-time, ongoing Advertised on behalf of Hays Are you a reliable Maintenance Operative / Electrical Mate with basic electrical skills or experience as an Electrical Mate? Hays is recruiting for a motivated individual to join an on-site maintenance team in Watford, working closely alongside a qualified electrician.

The Role In this position, you will support day-to-day building maintenance duties, including assisting with electrical works under supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the site, delivering safe, compliant, and high‑quality work.

Key Responsibilities Assist the electrician with routine electrical maintenance and minor repairs Perform general building maintenance tasks as required Carry out basic electrical duties where competent Support planned and reactive maintenance activities Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures What We’re Looking For Maintenance Operative with basic electrical knowledge, or Electrical Mate with site experience Strong practical skills and a proactive attitude Ability to work as part of a team Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work independently when required Pay & Employment £37,000–£38,000 max / Up to £18.27 Paye / £22.85 per hour umbrella Available as PAYE or Umbrella PAYE Long‑term opportunity for the right candidate If you are interested in this role and would like to find out more, please get in touch with Hays today.
