Wat ga je doen? As Area Sales Manager at VDL Agrotech, you lead international sales initiatives across your designated market territory, spending approximately 35 percent of your time traveling to client sites. You develop and execute business strategies, manage client relationships, oversee project feasibility with the engineering team, and drive revenue growth through a combination of relationship management, technical consultation, and strategic business development.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive business plans to expand international sales activities in your market territory
Maintain and cultivate existing client relationships while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities
Conduct technical consultations with clients and local agents to translate requirements into tailored solutions
Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure technical feasibility and project viability
Establish delivery terms, pricing strategies, and margin policies aligned with organizational objectives
Manage project timelines and coordinate activities to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance against annual budgets and targets
Attend international trade shows and industry events to generate leads and strengthen existing partnerships

Job requirements:
Completed hbo or wo degree, preferably in agricultural studies or international business
Commercial-technical background with several years of relevant sales or business development experience
Knowledge of poultry and livestock farming operations
Fluent in Dutch and English, with German language proficiency preferred
Project management experience in technical or industrial environments
Demonstrated ability to analyze market opportunities and develop strategic business plans
