AutoCad Designer Level 4

Job Description

The AutoCAD Designer Level 4 will support SDG E gas infrastructure projects through advanced 3D design and drawing development. This role is heavily focused on creating designs from scratch, producing construction drawings, and working within utility standards to deliver accurate, constructible pipeline designs.

• Experience with Plant 3D + Civil 3D (must have at least one)
• Proven experience creating isometric drawings
• Experience designing pipeline or utility infrastructure
• Ability to design from scratch vs modifying existing drawings

• Experience working with SoCal Gas standards
• Exposure to survey integration into design work
• Utility or gas pipeline project experience
• Experience across new builds, upgrades, or maintenance work

• Can own the design process end-to-end
• Is heavy in 3D design, not just 2D drafting
• Has built isometrics and full layouts themselves
• Can quickly read standards and start producing
• Doesn’t need training beyond environment onboarding

• Develop 3D pipeline and plant designs using Plant 3D and Civil 3D
• Create construction drawings and isometric layouts
• Design from scratch based on project requirements and standards
• Build and manage isometric drawings and blocks
• Incorporate survey data to correctly position designs
• Support full project lifecycle including design, requirements, and closeout
• Ensure all work aligns with SoCal Gas / SDG E design standards
