Substitute Teacher
We are currently searching for a confident and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team. If you are a friendly and competent professional with interest in education, then we're interested in you. Your duties will include assigning homework, managing classroom activities, and compiling reports. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of effective teaching practices that ensure learning is a comfortable and meaningful experience.
Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and organizational skill, with a strong command of the English language. Our school likes to keep a small number of substitute teachers in our pool to maintain consistency and familiar faces.
Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:
- Take attendance and document daily notes.
- Oversee the normal classroom rhythms and activities.
- Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the general classroom teacher.
- Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly.
- Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
- Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals.
- Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
- Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
- Assign and explain homework, and/or classroom work as instructed by teacher.
- Report student behavior to office personnel deemed to be urgent.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Please note that all applicants must meet the minimum requirements:
California Teaching Credential "or" Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit Passing Scores on Basic Skills Requirement test or CBEST Transcripts posting Bachelor's degree or 90 semester units and currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program Please attach the following additional documents to your on-line application:
