Holy Trinity School Teacher Position
Holy Trinity School in El Cajon is a Catholic school that partners with parents to form students spiritually, morally, intellectually, and physically within a close-knit community often described as a "family." Holy Trinity is looking for a dedicated educator to lead a combined 5th and 6th grade classroom, teaching core subjects including religion, math, science, social studies, and English language arts. This is an ideal role for a teacher who wants real ownership of a classroom and the chance to build deep relationships with students across two grade levels. The ideal candidate brings an unwavering commitment to helping every child achieve their God-given potential, using differentiated instruction to meet each student where they are while fostering a strong sense of community between the two grades.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing and implementing rigorous lesson plans that are differentiated to meet the learning needs of all students.
- Creating and maintaining a learning environment where every child feels safe, loved, and inspired to learn and grow.
- Supporting a school culture focused on faith, academic achievement, and virtue formation.
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, personalize, and execute lesson plans in assigned content areas.
- Lead instruction using a rigorous curriculum that inspires intellectual curiosity, reinforces the joy of learning, and enables all students to thrive.
- Teach all lessons with rigor, joy, and urgency.
- Engage in an ongoing data-driven cycle of assessment, analysis, and action.
- Achieve meaningful student achievement and growth results aligned with the school's mission and annual goals.
- Implement school-wide systems for academics, culture, and character formation.
- Connect with families through frequent phone calls, emails, conferences, and notes.
- Develop meaningful relationships with students and parents that drive students to love learning, act with integrity, and make exceptional academic gains.
- Participate in up to three weeks of summer training before school's opening.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Help students develop a personal relationship with Christ, and work to grow in one's own relationship with Christ.

The ideal candidate will bring experience, skills, and beliefs in the following areas:
- At a minimum, a bachelor's degree and a desire to help students grow in faith, virtue, and intellect is required. (A teaching license is not required.)

- Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students
- Living as a faith-filled individual, who understands and honors the teachings of the Catholic Church and is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith
- The ability to be flexible in a fast-paced school environment that is responsive to students' needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
- Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class
