St. Kieran Catholic School is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate educator who is deeply committed to developing Christ-centered, forward-thinking leaders to serve our future Church and our world. St. Kieran Catholic School is a parish school located in El Cajon, California.
Teaching Responsibilities- Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
- Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving STEAM experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades K through 8.
- Work in partnership with Diocese, teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM and online tools.
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between technology, art, music, and computer science.
- Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences.
- Attending parents' evenings and providing parents with comprehensive reports on their child's progress
- Return voice-mail/e-mail messages in a timely manner
- Communicate regularly with parents
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
- Demonstrate a respectful demeanor with staff, students, and parents
- Observe utmost confidentiality regarding parent, student, staff information/conversations
- Supervise playground and other areas of duty as the role may require
- Other duties as assigned
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
- Understand and support Diocese's mission and philosophy and to promote a positive image of the school and the Catholic faith.
- Contribute to a harmonious and inclusive school atmosphere by working cooperatively with all colleagues.
- Respect the confidentiality of private information relating to students, colleagues and the operations of the school.

- Possess a cleared California multiple subject teaching credential (preferred)
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree
- Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment)
- Experience teaching in an elementary school classroom
- Positive professional references and recommendations
- Expert level of technology and 21st century learning understanding and application.
- Deep knowledge of content standards, effective instructional strategies, and assessment driven instruction.
- Strong Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc.).
- Experience, but not limited to: 3D printing, software, Mac and PC.
- Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the teacher must:
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
- Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class
