Job Summary

Our team is prepared to handle a wide range of projects from small‑scale, time‑and‑material jobs to large‑scale, technology‑intensive projects.

Dynalectric Company San Diego is hiring an entry‑level technically savvy CAD Drafter to be part of our team. Dynalectric uses the latest CAD technologies such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam for BIM coordination and shop drawings, low‑voltage systems, drawings, and instrument and control design. The position may offer career advancement to an individual who shows good ability to learn and understand the following: production of electrical installation drawings, low‑voltage systems design, 3D modeling, CAD content development, CAD software troubleshooting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assisting CAD and Electrical Detailing departments in 2D drawing production
  • Red line markups and as‑built in CAD software and Bluebeam
  • Scanning and printing large‑format documents
Preferred

Education and/or Experience
  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD, professional training preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate with a team
  • Revit and Navisworks is a plus
  • Bluebeam experience is a plus
  • Basic use of email, Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office
  • Blueprint reading or past commercial electrical construction experience is a plus but not necessary
Computer Skills
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, NAVISworks, Lotus Notes and other electrical, technical, or construction programs
  • Familiarity with project management/document control software
  • Familiarity with construction/financial software packages

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Walk, reach with hands/arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and vision focusing. Must navigate job site locations and commute to field locations.

Work

Environment

The employee should expect to sit or stand for long periods in front of a computer, and also travel to field locations as needed. Outdoors work may involve wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high and precarious places, dust, fumes, toxic chemicals, weather extremes, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and moderate to loud noise levels.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $25-$32 hourly
