The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive. Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region.

Job Purpose:

Provide excellent guest service, facilitate Club Sycuan membership enrollment, be knowledgeable of and encourage participation in, promotions and events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently provide excellent guest service to internal and external guests following Sycuan's Guest Service program.
  • Provide guest service and promote guest relations by welcoming all guests entering the casino and/or approaching the Club Sycuan desk. Actively participate in celebrating guest winnings, taking photographs, answering guest inquiries, informing guests of, and upselling, Club Sycuan daily promotions and special events and benefits. Promptly notify a Club Sycuan Shift Supervisor of guest comments and/or complaints and treat all guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Maintains Club Sycuan player tracking database by collecting, verifying and entering data, opening new accounts. Assure accurate player data is uploaded to support targeted marketing and compliance.
  • Maximize Club Sycuan membership retention and increase client base by remaining present on the casino floor during the assigned shift, initiate player contact, and proactively speak with guests about Club Sycuan membership benefits. Encourage participation in promotions and events with more frequent play by issuing comps, answering questions and resolving concerns.
  • Provide support for promotions, and special events within gaming guidelines and departmental policies and procedures. Verify current government issued  every transaction, swipe Club Sycuan card for promotional entries and into associated drawings. Actively participating in celebrating guests' winnings, enthusiastically leading guests through different promotional activities ensuring that they have a memorable experience and encouraging return trips.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a casino and resort environment with exposure to second-hand smoke, loud noise levels, crowds, bright or flashing lights, and varying temperatures. Team Members may work in indoor and outdoor areas, including back-of-house spaces, guest-facing areas, or operational environments.

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

  • High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or G.E.D.
  • 2 years of guest service or hospitality experience.

Desirable:

  • Casino gaming experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for 8+ hours
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and lift 30lbs
  • Ability to use a radio/phone or communicate in high-noise environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests and Team Members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guests, Team Members and company information
  • Ability to arrive to work on time
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to count cash and/or cash equivalents and make change, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to compose written documents in the English language
  • Ability to effectively communicate, maintain professional and positive composure with guests and team members
  • Ability to abide by polished and professional grooming standards
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to quickly and accurately enter and/or verify data in multiple computer systems.
  • Ability to follow routine procedures and seek assistance from leadership when necessary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Multi-lingual
  • Knowledge of casino games
