CNC Laser Operator
This role requires proficiency in laser cutting and a strong understanding of CNC machines. The candidate should be familiar with NC programming and capable of performing moderate physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Minimum of three (3) years experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes and knowledge of metal alloys.
Shifts Available- Monday-Thursday: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (4 x 10 Schedule)
- Monday-Thursday: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (4 x 10 Schedule)
- Friday-Sunday : 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM (3 x 12 Schedule)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Pick up part and fixture locations to establish cutting planes and ensure proper alignment of work pieces.
- Measure and inspect fabricated parts using appropriate precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications.
- Set up fixtures, vises, and rotary tables, and measure fabricated parts.
- Apply knowledge of mathematical tasks and trigonometry to operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
- Identify and communicate machine and quality issues to management as they arise.
- Moderate physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and considerable time standing.
- Minimum of three years' experience in setting up and operating CNC lasers.
- Experience operating from manufacturers such as Mazak or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of metal alloys.
- Ability to interpret dimensions and tolerances in both metric and inch measurements.
- Experience in picking up part and fixture locations to set up cutting planes.
- Proficiency in using dial calipers, micrometers, height gauges, precision protractors, and indicators.
- Skills and performance with CNC machining preferably CNC lathes or laser cutting, knowledge of CNC Machines and familiarity with NC programming.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to solve right triangles on parts.
- Willingness to work at assigned jobs within or outside the machine shop department.
- Background in a machine shop environment with exposure to fixtures, vises, and rotary table setups.
- Comfort working with repetitive production runs and managing multiple setups per day.
- Willingness to work at assigned jobs in or out of the machine shop department.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $38.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
