Job Description
:
The Hand Finisher II is responsible for the setup and operation of hand tools to trim, blend, deburr, and finish manufactured objects, materials, or parts in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Ensures final products meet blueprint specifications and tolerances.

The Hand Finisher II uses hand tools to trim, blend, deburr, and finish parts, ensuring conformance to specifications. Typical tasks include setting up equipment, loading and adjusting products, applying abrasives, washing/cleaning/polishing to remove grindings, dust, oil, and coolant, and inspecting own work for quality. Follows safety rules, quality procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Set up and operate hand tools to specified tolerances. Trim, blend, deburr, and finish manufactured objects, materials, or parts.
• Load and adjust product onto equipment or worktable.
• Utilize abrasive materials, air tools, and/or hand tools. Blend areas to create a smooth appearance.
• Wash, clean, and/or polish product to remove remaining grindings, dust, oil, and coolant.
• Inspect own quality of work. Notify appropriate personnel of non-conformities and identify documentation or quality-related issues.
• Observe and inspect product to ensure blueprint specifications and tolerances are met.
• Assist in maintaining deburring equipment.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and adherence to supervisor directions; work safely and collaboratively; follow company policies and procedures; accept feedback and show initiative.

• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or templates.
• Ability to understand process sketches and select appropriate abrasives to meet design intent.
• Knowledge of machines and hand tools.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to grasp and manipulate objects and control machines and processes.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational training a plus.

Experience:

• 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
